Girl Eating

If you have enough imagination to dream and the courage to act on your dreams, then you can make the apparently impossible possible.

If you are poor, you can become wealthy; if you are sickly, you can become healthy; and if you are unhappy, you can become happy.

Let’s explore these ideas in a little more depth.

Get Wealthy

How do you become wealthy?

First, improve your ability to earn money. Decide what you would like to do for a living, then educate yourself to get increasingly better at your chosen line of work. You could, for example, go back to school, launch a self-study program, or enroll in a company-sponsored educational plan.

Second, you must get good at managing money. This means that you should live within your means, spend your money wisely, and save up your surplus income to invest.

Third, invest in something that someone else can manage for you. One popular investment is a rental property. If you live in Charlotte and buy a house or apartment there to rent out, don’t manage it yourself because that will become a full-time job. Instead, look for a firm that handles property management in Charlotte, NC, and put your investment on autopilot.

Gain Health

While wealth will give you a higher quality of life, don’t neglect your health. “Health is the first wealth,” wrote American philosopher Ralph Waldo Emerson in 1860.

Let’s be clear. Health is not just the absence of any disease. It’s a state of total physical, mental, and social well-being.

The pillars of health are simple:

  • Get enough sleep
  • Reduce stress and anxiety.
  • Eat a healthy diet.
  • Exercise regularly.

Besides reading books or watching videos about healthy eating and exercise, use a smartwatch for fitness tracking. This will ensure that you’re getting enough exercise each day and enough sleep every night.

Find Happiness

Most people with normal lives are unhappy because they have the wrong idea about happiness. They believe that they will be happy when they achieve their goals or when something wonderful happens to them.

According to Positive Psychology, a branch of psychology that investigates the nature of happiness, we have the entire happiness formula backward. We only experience temporary happiness when we achieve our goals or when we experience some wonderful event. After getting what we want, we go back to being unhappy again.

Ironically, when we are happy first, then it is easier to achieve our goals and to attract the wonderful fortune we desire. This is because our positive energy makes us work diligently towards our desires or attract the right people and circumstances for us.

So how do we get into a state of mind where we are happier?

Focus on what is going right in your life rather than dwelling on all the things that didn’t work out how you had hoped. Evolution has designed us to have a negative bias, but we can override this survival instinct by deciding to notice what’s working.

Once you’ve noticed what’s working, feel grateful for it. It’s not enough to have a successful experience, you must also feel appreciation that something good happened for you.

If you can imagine a bigger, better, bolder life, then you can make it happen. Many things that once seemed impossible become possible.

One example you know well was the lunar landing. In 1960, scientists did not know how to send a man to the moon, but on July 20, 1969, the Apollo Eagle landed on the moon and Neil Armstrong stepped out onto its surface.

Imagine what you can do if you put your mind and heart into it!
