Twittermoms.com and Tropicana have brought out a “Spring Renewal” blog campaign. They asked bloggers for 10 little things that lead to a happier, healthier you. I’ve thought on this a while and here are 10 things for me…
- I start every day (seriously) with orange juice, no matter what I eat I always drink a little oj. Oj is a powerhouse in a glass. My oj of choice is Trop50 with no pulp. I dont like the thought of chewing my juice and of course it low calories lol!
- Learn to love my body. No matter what it looks like on the outside, I know that my body is here for me to function and in return I must love it. I love my body by exercising and eating the healthiest I can (most days that is). After all you are what you eat, and if all you eat is over processed foods you’re not going to feel good or look as good as you want.
- Give up perfection. I’ve learned that I can’t be/do everything for everyone. Do not be afraid to ask for help when you need it!
- Play often. When stress tries getting me down I take the time to play. Whether it’s playing a game with my boys or taking time to just sit and watch them, they always keep me smiling and laughing which makes me feel better.
- Drink my water! There are multiple benefits of drinking water daily. Do you want to ward off dry skin? Feel more full while eating? Need more energy? Want to lose a few pounds? Drinking water can help reach those goals. I started out drinking half my weight in water and while I vacation I was drinking my entire weight in water. Now I’m back to half my weight in water.
- Giving Thanks. Practicing gratitude is like exercising, use it and you can’t lose it. I write in a journal weekly about things/people I am grateful for. Then when I amfeeling down on myself about something I can pull my journal out and see all the things I have in life to cherish.
- Make lists. Writing down my tasks helps me organize my thoughts and keep track of what I need to accomplish. Getting items checked off my lists gives me a sense of fulfillment which makes me feel good.
- Spend time alone. Just gimme 5 minutes! Yes I love being with my husband and children but I still need some mommy down time even if its 5 minutes to paint my nails, going shopping alone, taking a nap (ha!) or laying on the bed reading a book. When I feel the need to recharge and reflect it’s mommy time to the rescue.
- Surround yourself with happy people. If you are around people that think negatively you may begin to feel that way yourself.
- Don’t do something for someone for what you can get out of the situation. If you do something for someone for what you can get out of it you have removed the act of love and kindness from the situation. You don’t want to help someone else just to be helping yourself. To me thats selfish. Do something for someone else because they need it not because you can get something in return.
