I have found another new kid on the cloth diaper block. Say hello to LolliDoo cloth diapers.

I was contacted by Alison from Go Green Sustainable Industries about their LolliDoo cloth diapers to do a review test for LolliDoo diapers. Of course Baby B and I were more than willing to help them out. These diapers are so new they are still working on their website. LolliDoo diapers are reusable, recycled, organic and recyclable.

I was intrigued by these diapers as they are a little different from other cloth diapers we have tried and tested. We were given the chance to review the LolliDoo Eco pocket One Size snap diaper in black with certified organic cotton skin layer. All of the textile components of these diapers are made in the USA which provides jobs for families and generates domestic spending. A big plus in my eyes!

LolliDoo eco pocket diapers are not made from the usual waterproof PUL material. These diapers are designed with EcoSpun recycled preformance fleece. The use of EcoSpun recycled fabric yields many rewards for not only the consumer but the Earth as well. How so? One of the best features to me about LolliDoo diapers is how they cut down on lanfill trash. Not only do they cut out the disposable diapers piling up but each one of these nifty little diapers is made from 6 PET plastic drink bottles cutting back on those from being in ladfills as well! How cool is that? Once you wash your LolliDoo diapers 3 times in hot water these babies feel just like your favorite old comfy sweatshirt. LolliDoo Classic diapers come in light blue, red, black and green.

All LilliDoo diapers are One Sized. The easy snap sizing waist and rise make for a perfect fit. They have overlapping closure tabs to give a smaller, tighter fit on smaller babies but since Baby B is 30+ lbs we weren’t able to see how small it could get. The LilliDoo diaper makes 4 different sizes. Without adjusting any rise snaps (no rise snaps snapped) you have a size XL. Snap the 2nd row of snaps for a Large, 3rd row for a Medium and 4th row for a small.

Another thing about LolliDoo diapers that I liked is the certified organic cotton skin layer. The cotton works great at wicking away the moisture from Baby B’s bottom. Alison told me that these diapers work so well that it wouldnt matter what type of insert you used in them, that they would work just fine even if you used just an old rag or towel. So of course I had to try out to see how true that is. Since Baby B is a heavy wetter I used 2 old microfiber towels (from wal mart out of the automotive section) in these the first time I put one on Baby B. It worked out just fine for Baby B (see results of over all test).

LolliDoo diapers are made to last, once you use it on all your children and you think its lived its life as a usable cloth diaper you can send it back to LolliDoo to be recycled! They are developing a recycling program where you can send your LolliDoo diapers back to them to be fed existing fiber recycling.

The LolliDoo diapers are very trim as you can see of the crotch in this pic.

Over all test:

Day time wear: As I said above this diaper worked out very well for Baby B during the day time. he wore it the first time for 5 hours and his bottom was still dry when I took it off.
Grade: A+

Nap time wear: the LolliDoo survived a milk full Baby B 3 hour nap. No problem.
Grade: A+

Night time wear: I wanted to see if the Classic LolliDoo could hold up over night. Put it on him at 8:30 and he slept until 7:30 the next morning. Result? No leaks, no wet pj’s and no wet sheets. I’m impressed LolliDoo.

Grade: A++

I can’t wait to see what else LolliDoo comes up with! LolliDoo Eco-Pockets will be coming your way soon via Nicki’s Diapers, Kelly’s Closet, Terra Tots, Hopscotch and more.
