Baby B has been booroi-ed!
What is booroi? Booroi is a Australian based cloth diaper business with distribution centers in Australia, the USA and the UK. When we were offered the opportunity to try yet another cloth diaper out of course I said yes! Booroi’s main site is Australian based. At the top right hand corner you can choose from a list of your nearest location as to where you would like to shop from. I switched to the USA page to view the US currency prices.
Booroi sent me their booroi trial pack. What comes in a trial pack? You get:
(1) Bamboo prefold
(1) Side Snap PUL diaper cover
(3) Bamboo cloth wipes
(1) Small wetbag that everything comes in
(1) Care & Usage guide
I chose the green as our trial pack color. The prefold, diaper cover and wet bag are all green. The booroi diapers are sized and are available in Small, Medium and Large. We got the Large as it fits the weight range from 26-40 lbs. (Baby B is in the 30 lb. range). The Large fits him on the tightest setting of snaps. I love the feel of this prefold! Its oh so soft with its squishy bamboo fabric.
There are 2 ways your baby can wear the booroi diaper system. The side snapping booroi diaper cover is different from most PUL diaper covers I have seen. It has a opening in the middle of the cover. For smaller babies, or simply if you prefer, you can use a snappi to put the prefold on your baby and then just put the diaper cover over as most covers go. For simple use, or again if you prefer, you can fold the bamboo prefold into thirds and tuck it all the way inside the diaper cover. I chose to tuck the prefold into the cover for Baby B.
Another neat thing about the booroi diaper cover is that if it is not soiled on from the first prefold you use in it you can simply wipe it off and air dry it between changes and use it with another prefold which allows for less covers needed in rotation of your stash.
Nap time use: No leaks from a 3 hour nap. A+
Night time use: Baby B wore the booroi for night time use last night. he slept from 8:30 last night until 8 this morning. 12 hrs. later dry pj’s, dry sheets and a soaked to the max prefold inside the cover! A++
